Born in Savannah, Georgia, Pastor Jason Herring surrendered to the full-time preaching of the Gospel at the age of 10. “I always had a desire to minister in America,” Pastor Herring says, but it was not until he helped to start the Capital City Baptist Church in Salem, OR in 1997 that he knew God was calling him and his family to the Northwest.
On August 30, 2004, Pastor Jason, his wife Suzie, and their two children, Jason, and Josiah, moved to Eagle, Idaho from Glennville, Georgia where Jason served as associate pastor of Heritage Baptist Church for seven years. Jason and Suzie met in 1998 at a youth conference in Indiana where he was preaching and Suzie and her brother and sister were providing the special music. They were married on August 21, 1999. In addition to serving as assistant pastor in Glennville, Pastor Herring remained on staff at Faith Baptist Christian Academy in Long County, Georgia where he taught a variety of subjects for four years. It was during this time that God led the Herring family to start the North Valley Baptist Church in the Treasure Valley.
Supported by over fifty churches across the United States the North Valley Baptist Church was bound to succeed through the power of God. On November 14, 2004, after knocking on thousands of doors and spending much time in prayer, the first Sunday service was held at the Eagle Middle School with an attendance of forty-nine.
There is no doubt that God is blessing the North Valley Baptist Church as continue to see lives saved and transformed through the power of the Gospel. This is because the foundation of the North Valley Baptist Church is God’s Holy Word. We believe the Bible is the textbook for our families. We also believe the Bible to be the infallible Word of God and the final authority over our lives. If you are interested in hearing the Bible preached in a plain, simple, and uncompromising manner, then we believe that North Valley Baptist Church is the place for you. Come and learn why we are “the Church with a heart for the valley”.
